Billing, subscriptions and refunds

Last updated 4 September 2026

This policy explains how paid features are charged, renewed, cancelled and refunded. It supplements the Terms of service.

kinl+

kinl+ is a recurring monthly subscription at the price shown at purchase, charged in advance and renewing automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Kinl Biz+

Kinl Biz+ is a recurring monthly subscription for business accounts at A$149 per month, charged in advance and renewing automatically until cancelled. It unlocks the AI Receptionist. The booking calendar, business dashboard, voicemail, lead capture, calendar API, permanent posts, dashboard assistant and creator priority placement are free on every business account whether or not you subscribe. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the receptionist stays on until the end of the paid period.

Paying a business for a booking

When you book a one-to-one service, the business decides whether you pay a deposit at booking, the full price at booking, or nothing upfront. Whatever you pay is shown before you confirm, together with the business's cancellation policy. Kinl deducts a 5% commission from what you pay; the rest is credited to the business. Group classes are booked on Kinl but paid to the business directly.

If the service does not collect its full price at booking, your card is saved by Stripe and the business may charge it later — up to the total price of the service and never more — for a no-show or late-cancellation fee under their policy, or for the remaining balance. You are told this on the booking screen before your card is saved and are notified each time a charge is made. Refunds follow the business's cancellation policy as shown at booking; if the business cancels, anything you paid upfront is refunded in full.

You can see every booking payment, saved card and charge in the app under Payments & orders, alongside your tax invoices.

Business earnings and cash-out

Money customers pay you is credited to your Kinl balance after Kinl's 5% booking commission and is held for seven days before it becomes eligible to cash out. Cash-outs go to your bank account through Stripe Connect; the minimum is A$50.

Each cash-out deducts Kinl's 5% cash-out commission and Stripe's own payout fees: a per-payout fee of 0.25% plus A$0.25, and a A$2 active-account fee charged once per calendar month on your first cash-out in that month. These Stripe fees are passed through at cost, not marked up, and the full breakdown — amount, commission, each fee, and what reaches your bank — is shown before you confirm. Worked example: a A$200 cash-out that is your first this month sends A$187.28 to your bank (A$10.00 commission, A$0.72 payout fee, A$2.00 account fee); a second A$200 cash-out in the same month sends A$189.28.

One-off purchases

Post extensions, boosts and sticker orders are one-off purchases. Digital items are delivered immediately and are not refundable once delivery starts, except where the law requires otherwise.

Physical stickers

Delivery windows are estimates. We replace items that arrive faulty or damaged when reported with photos within thirty days. Custom-printed items are not returnable for change of mind.

Tax invoices and our business details

Purchases are made from Tunnex Pty Ltd as trustee for the Tunnex Family Trust (trading as Kinl), ABN 64 878 795 346 (GST-registered), registered office Moonee Ponds VIC 3039, Australia, postal address PO Box 1037, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039, Australia. Billing enquiries: hello@kinl.me.

We issue a numbered tax invoice for every completed purchase. It shows our business name and ABN, the invoice number and date, a description of what you bought, the amount, any GST included, and the total. Where GST applies to an Australian sale it is included in the price shown at checkout and is itemised on the invoice.

Your invoices are always available in the app under Payments & orders, with no expiry. If a purchase was converted into your local currency, the invoice also shows the amount in Australian dollars and the conversion applied by our payment processor.

Your consumer rights

Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including remedies for services that are not delivered with due care and skill. Purchases through an app store are also covered by that store's refund process.
